Canada and Iceland mark this romantic journey between two women brought together by fate.

Best friends and housemates in their late thirties, Bebs (Barbra) and Scott have their lives turned upside down over the course of a summer. Bebs is struggling to sort out her career and life in Ottawa as Scott's hitherto unknown birth father, Ari, arrives in the city to meet his son. Ari lives in Reykjavik with his much younger sister Katarina.

What starts out as an ordinary hot summer day leads to an extraordinary awakening involving strangers and the merging of two different worlds. Told from the point of view of Bebs, the story is about the dynamics of family, friendships, romance, and passion along the way.
