Adam P. Frankel - The Survivors: A Story of War, Inheritance, and Healing — in conversation with Jen Psaki

Upcoming Event
Saturday, November 2, 2019 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Frankel’s maternal grandparents survived the Holocaust, but though they changed their names and started new lives in Connecticut, they nonetheless passed down their trauma to succeeding generations. Exploring this family legacy, however, led Frankel to the shocking discovery that the man he thought of as his father is not his biological parent. In this powerful memoir, Frankel, a former speechwriter to President Obama and now an advisor to the social change organization, Emerson Collective, grapples with essential questions of identity, asking what defines a family and how we can finally lay to rest the painful inheritances of the past. Frankel will be in conversation with Jen Psaki, a political commentator on CNN and former White House Communications director.
