P&P Live! Joy McCullough-Champ and Major: First Dogs

Upcoming Event
Thursday, January 21, 2021 - 11:00am

Watching over a president is a lot of work for one dog alone. When rescue pup, Major, joins the Biden family, Champ is happy to show him the ropes. Sheyda Abvabi Best’s illustrations capture the time leading up the 2020 election with scenes of reporters wearing masks and details like Kamala Harris’s now famous Converse sneakers serving as a real snapshot in time. Young readers will love learning that Major joins the ranks of White House pets as the first rescue dog to call 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue home! Joy McCullough’s sweet story will surely inspire families looking for a new pet to consider rescue animals.
