Upcoming Event
Saturday, October 26, 2019 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Marking the centennial of the 19th Amendment, this stunning volume, drawn from National Geographic’s unparalleled archives, includes more than 300 photographs of women from around the world. From iconic images of women’s suffrage activists to the green-eyed “Afghan girl” to portraits of outstanding contemporary figures such as Oprah Winfrey, Jane Goodall, and Christiane Amanpour, the photos represent a wide range of perspectives and experiences. Each is accompanied by new interviews and commentary by groundbreakers including Gloria Allred, Jacinda Ardern, Laura Bush, Melinda Gates, Roxane Gay, and the founders of the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements. Edited by Susan Goldberg, chief content officer of National Geographic Partners and the first woman editor-in-chief of National Geographic magazine, the book launches the Geographic’s yearlong celebration of women.
